A dear friend and neighbor to my family writes this for her facebook status Friday:
"This morning at 12:32 I turned loose of the hand of my beloved sweetheart of 63 years and God took his hand and took him to his beautiful new home. He had lived his life to be joined in heaven with God, and while my tears flow unchecked my joy is that he is now out of pain and walking in the sunshine of our lord and saviour. He lived a beautiful, faithful life, and I will miss him so."
I record this here, because I never want to forget the way she described her husband's death...and, more importantly, his life.
To me, this is a picture of love...and of a life well-lived.
Rest in peace, Mr. Bruton. You sure did fight the good fight. We'll take care of Mrs. Bruton in your stead, and rest assured, she'll be back by your side soon.

I love this. Sadly not many marriages last these days and a lot of times the type of love Mrs. Bruton described isn't evident in some of the marriages that do last. I pray for this type of marriage and life for me and Derek everday. Thank you for sharing. Now I need to go get a Kleenex...
