Good news. No stomach bug for us. However, we weren't spared a little puke-fest yesterday anyway, thanks to Henry experimenting with his gag reflex. Yay. I think he was actually trying to scratch the back of his throat with his finger, which was itchy from a little post-nasal delight. Again, yay.
This morning, he's oozing green boogies, coughing, yanking on his ears, and telling me "itchy," so we're headed to the pediatrician to make sure there's no infection. I don't normally jump the gun on pede visits, but since he's been a little weird all week, I just don't want to wait on it.
Of course, our day wouldn't be complete without some sort of hiccup, right? Well, here it is. We signed on to Jared's insurance policy with work, allegedly effective 1/1/10. So, I called to check benefits with our new insurance this morning, just to be sure we were good to go before we walked into the doc's office. Ha. I should have known. There's evidently been some sort of clerical error and Henry and I weren't added to the policy at all. So, we're cash-pay today...which was SO fun to explain to the appointment-maker at the doc's office. Is it just me, or do doctor's offices immediately turn a-hole when things aren't A-B-C easy? As if I don't feel bad/embarrassed enough that our insurance company decided to suck this week...why don't you, sweet front desk lady, ask me lots of pointed questions in a condescending, you-probably-don't-have-insurance-because-you're-lying-and-trashy tone??? Ugh.

That sucks about the people at the dr's office! I go to a great office and they are so nice! I hope that nothing is wrong with Henry but you never know. Brady had that kind of stuff at New Years and he was sick with an ear infection and upper resp. infection. Hope he feels better :)
what the hell insurance were you on before if you JUST got onto Jared plan?
We had independent insurance through BCBS, because Jared's company makes zero contribution for dependents...in 2008, we were paying almost $800 a month for coverage for all of us with his work policy. So, in '09, we tried this other route...which cut our premiums in half but screwed us on prenatal coverage (which, recall, we weren't expecting to need). So, now it's 2010, and we're back on with the work policy...with a slightly better premium than in '08. I hate insurance.
I know I don't need to say it ... but I HATE insurance. Hate, hate, hate ...
