No, baby, let's not flush our pants...

With all that's been going on around here lately, my energy/creativity for blogging has been pretty much zapped. However, while chatting with a girlfriend this morning, I had an exchange with H that begs to be repeated and preserved. In fact, we've had a series of exchanges this week that are worthy of sharing, so I hope I can get those posted soon too. Thanks for reminding me to write about this stuff, J!!

This morning:
Me (on phone): Uh, oh...I hear someone playing in my bathroom...let me go see what's going on.
*numerous clanging sounds come from bathroom*
Me: *turning corner into bathroom* Henry, whatcha doin'?
Henry: Mama...potty! *takes pants off*
Me: *smiling at him...moves him away from potty to avoid further clanging sounds...thinks nothing of de-pantsing he just gave himself*
Henry: Maaaaamaaaaa....loooook...pottyyyyyyyyyyy!! *proceeds to throw pants into the toilet*
Me: No! Henry...we do not put our pants in the potty...that water is dirty and not for pants!!
Henry: Flush??
Me: No, baby, let's not flush our pants....why don't we just wash our hands and brush our teeth instead?

Ahhh, just a few minutes in the life of an awesomely adorable 18-month old. Now, if you'll excuse me...I've got a pair of pants to get in the wash.
