Last weekend, when all of our football travel plans fell through, we were thrilled to realize that we could actually make it to Reid B.'s 1st Birthday Party! Reid's mom and dad are in our Life Group at church, and we think they are pretty great. Henry and Reid think each other are pretty great too, so it works out well for all parties involved!
Here are the boys sizing each other up...

...and here we are with Reid and his mom, Nicole. This is at the tail end of the party, and you can really see the tiredness on the boys' faces. Oh, and by the way, both of these boys have gorgeous blue eyes, but for whatever reason, my camera captured them looking very un-blue and mostly possessed. Red-eye editing didn't help...just trust me...the eyes are not scary in real life!
Here's our little Henry playing with his dumptruck. Lately, he likes to empty the back of it and try to get in for a ride...sadly, he usually ends up tipped over and sprawled across the floor...or 'guck.
BLOCKS!!

Finally, here's the little muscle man waking up a sleeping lion (his Grammie!). He loves waking up anything that snores....so we all take turns snoring and getting woken up by his pats, screeches, and clapping.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. We'll be trying to catch up on our sleep, for sure. Henry is teething (again), and it's been making him an extremely restless sleeper this week. Thereby, we, too, have been extremely restless sleepers. Last night, we thought we were seeing a little bit of light at the end of our insomnia-plagued tunnel when the boy slept a full 10 hours. Amen. Tonight, however, he's giving Jared a run for his money with bedtime, so we'll see what sort of adventures are in store for us in the hours to come. Bad bedtime is usually the first indication of a long night in the making. Sigh.
For grandparents keeping track, he has 12 teeth in his mouth (eight on the bottom and four across the top). I think this week's ick is being caused by the outside points of his bottom molars finally coming through, but who knows for sure. His top gums are swollen, too, so maybe it's those molars wanting to join the party.
All I know is that we think it's time for this particular party to be over...like, now.
